New York: HBO is making a comeback, at least in name.Warner Bros. Discovery said on Wednesday that it would be changing the name of its streaming service from Max to HBO Max this summer.
When the Max name was chosen in 2023, it was regarded as an odd decision because it originated with Warner's merger with Discovery. Max was a reference to the less prestigious Cinemax network, whereas HBO is generally regarded as the gold standard for excellence. Read more...
